I have seen a variation of this cake in a German food magazine called essen & trinken. I liked the idea of combining peanut butter with chocolate. The cake is not too sweet and has a touch of “different” to it.
Preparation: 20 minutes
Baking time 30 minutes
- 200 ml milk
- 120 gram good quality bitter chocolade
- 100 gram brown sugar
- 100 gram butter
- 2 eggs
- 200 gram flour
- 1 ts baking powder
- 100 gram peanut butter
- 50 gram unsalted peanuts chopped
- whipping cream
Pre-heat the oven to 190 degrees centigrade.
Heat the milk in a small pot. Once it is hot, add the chocolate and melt it. Add 50 gram of the Sugar.
Mix the butter with the remaining sugar. Add the eggs one by one and keep mixing.
Add the flour and the baking powder to the butter mix. Mix slowly with a wire whisk. Now add the peanut butter and the chocolate sauce.
Now you can add the mixture to the baking tray. Oil the tray if necessary before you add the mixture. Sprinkle peanuts over the dough, if you wish. Bake for 30 minutes in the oven.
Remove from the oven to let it cool down.
Whisk the cream. Add a little bit of peanut butter to the cream. Serve with the cake.
