Out in Athens – Ep Avli – Επ’ αυλή

2 comments Aug 8th, 2010 | By | Category: Out in Athens, Recipes

The Ep Avli tavern is one of the best in the center of town, the area of Pangrati, near Syntagma.  The menu is small but each week they serve seasonal specials. One of my favorites is the butter fried trout, but also the salads are great. You should leave some space for the Kataifi desert.

The roof terrace fills up quickly as the locals appreciate the quality and the prices of the Ep Avli tavern. The renovated neoclassical building also has beautiful rooms in the inside in winter. You have to count on 15 to 20 Euros per person.

The young team around Giorgos and Victoria offer a high quality service with a smile and a little chat.

The Ep avli is located between the Plateia Plastira and the Panathinaikos stadium. You can reach it from Synthagma with the bus lines 2, 4,12 or by foot or taxi. The Bus stop is Pl. Plasteira. Phone: 210 7014836

  1. love that terrace seating!

  2. I have yet to have the chance to visit Greece. I’m long overdue, too, since I LOVE Greek food, especially katafi. Who wouldn’t love a buttery, crispy dessert of gooey cheese and sugar syrup? ;)
