Burger town in Glyfada – Μπιφτεκούπολη στη Γλυφάδα

Leaving the City of Athens towards the south east you soon will reach the sea and there lies the town of Glyfada. It is situated at the borders of the metropolitan area of Athens. The town has great sea views, nice, clear waters and is one of the most expensive spots of Attica. It has a nice Marina, exclusive coffee shops and of course interesting places to eat.

Biftekoupoli – Burger town is one of these places.
Along Konstantinoupoleos street is one Bifteki Tavern next to the other. You only come here if you are into meat. The smell of BBQ fills the street and the tough competition amongst the taverns results in a good quality ingredients. The taverns here fill up fast, even during the week.

You can still sit outside and enjoy the weather observing a Greek hobby: Driving with a car as close to your dinner spot as possible.

The starters are standard but the meat here is really good. The Greeks are famous for their disability to cook a piece of meat medium or even rear. They just love to burn everything on a grill beyond recognition which results in meat that is not edible for most people but the Greeks themselves. Not so here.

I did not feel so much like having a Bifteki, but spotted T-Bone steak on the menu. I took the risk and was truly surprised. Certainly the best piece of medium-rare stake I had in a long time. It better be for 25 Euros.
