A easy to do cake that fits the season. Apple can be found easily now and to use it in baking always results in a juicy cake. You can vary different kinds of apples to vary the flavors a little bit.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
baking time: 40 minutes
- 9 ounces of wheat flour
- 1/2 baking powder
- 6 ounces of sugar
- 1,5 ts vanilla sugar
- 1/2 zest of half a lemon
- 6 ounces of butter
- 1 egg
- 2 apples
- a pinch of cinnamon
Put a third of the flour, the baking powder, half the sugar and the vanilla sugar, the lemon zest half the butter and the egg into a bowl and knead it into a dough.
Spread the dough into a buttered baking tray.
Peel the apples. cut them in quarters and remove the pits. lay out the apple pieces on the dough.
Put the remaining flour, sugar, and cinnamon into a bowl and rub the ingredients between your fingers to form the streusel. You want to crumble the ingredients together to form little knots of different sizes.
Spread the streusel over the apples and bake the tray for 40 minutes at 274 F.
