Almond Florentine Crackers

This truly easy and delicious way of making Almond Florentine Crackers I have discovered at The English Kitchens blog. Italian salt crackers are used as a basis of the Florentine. Caramel goes very well with a tiny bit if salt that is on the crackers.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Baking time: 7 minutes + 1 hour to cool off

difficulty: easy

  • 7 oz of brown sugar
  • 5 oz of butter
  • 3,5 oz of almond flakes
  • Italian salt crackers

Melt the butter and sugar in a small pot on low heat. Whist while doing so. The process takes approximately 5 minutes.

Meanwhile heat up the oven to 356 F.

Place the Italian crackers on a baking tray. Use a baking sheet, to no caramel sticks on the tray.

Spread out the caramelized sugar, butter mix over the crackers and sprinkle the almond flakes over it. Bake for 7 minutes. Then turn off the oven and open the door just a bit. Let the crackers cool off while they remain in the oven.
